Tripping - Intoeing
Research has shown that the biggest reason children are treated for intoeing is because parents are concerned about the way their children walk or run. Sometimes intoeing is a developmental phase that children will grow out of. Tripping during intoeing usually lasts for 1-2 years as children learn how to compensate for the problem. To treat or not to treat? If you are concerned about your child intoeing, it is a good idea to have a biomechanics appointment with us.
How can Health Steps Podiatry help you?
- We can observe the way your child runs or walks
- We can analyse the shoes they wear and how they wear them out.
- We can advise you on how to treat the problem and whether they need gait plates, orthotics or a change of foot wear.
- Sometimes it is just a phase they will grow out of and we will tell you this. We only treat if necessary.
